Job Description

I. Project planning
▪ Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets that meet technical requirements and objectives.
II. Technical oversight
▪ Providing technical expertise and guidance throughout all phases of construction projects, from initial design and planning through to completion and handover.
III. Quality control
▪ Implementing quality control measures to ensure that construction work meets industry standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements, and addressing any issues or deviations that arise.
IV. Material selection and procurement
▪ Researching, selecting, and procuring construction materials, equipment, and systems that meet project requirements, specifications, and budget constraints.
V. Design coordination
▪ Coordinating with architects, engineers, and design teams to review project plans, specifications, and drawings, and ensuring that technical requirements are integrated into the design process.
VI. Construction management
▪ Overseeing construction activities, including site inspections, progress monitoring, and coordination of subcontractors, to ensure that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.
VII. Risk management
▪ Identifying potential risks and hazards associated with construction projects, developing risk mitigation strategies, and implementing safety measures to protect workers, property, and the environment.
VIII. Technical support
▪ Providing technical support and assistance to project teams, subcontractors, and field staff to resolve technical issues, interpret drawings and specifications, and address construction challenges as they arise.
IX. Regulatory compliance
▪ Ensuring compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, environmental regulations, and other legal requirements relevant to construction projects, and obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
X. Documentation and reporting
▪ Maintaining accurate records of project documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, change orders, and inspection reports, and preparing regular progress reports for management and stakeholders.
XI. Training and development
▪ Providing training and professional development opportunities for construction staff to enhance their technical skills, knowledge, and capabilities, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
XII. Client relations
▪ Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders by effectively communicating technical information, addressing concerns, and delivering high-quality construction outcomes.

Job Requirement

A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field is typically required. Some employers may prefer candidates with a master's degree or professional certifications in construction management or engineering.
